There are over 300 dungeons and dragons resource books, with 5 different editions. (the 5th edition recently re-written to add more depth) One of the top reasons people don't want to play is because of the amount of rules making it hard to understand.
so many classes to choose from: Which ones are the easiest? Which ones are fun ? Can I cast fireball ? Can I heal the party ? Which one do I choose if I want to hit stuff ? How to sneak? What to choose if I want to be cool ?
Definitely too many races(species 2024 ruleset) to choose from
What rules are worth keeping ?
-I want this project to be player based...not game master based. -I want someone to be able to read the simple rules and be able to join straight into a game. -Most of the time the DM will go over more complex rules anyway to make sure everyone in the group is up to date with rules and game play mechanics.
I want to include easy to read charts and basic/ easy to read information
DnD 5e artwork
what do these tell us about the game mechanics … elves are pretty?
Poor quality cheat sheets. I want to use recognisable icons and imagery to represent rules
